Schedule update - please note that the October 21, 2011 game @ Brampton which was curfewed due to unsafe playing conditions (zamboni door) has been rescheduled for January 27, 2012 9pm at Century Gardens. Under the PWHL Constitution Regulation 3-1, less than 40 minutes of game clock time were completed resulting by definition as an incomplete game resulting in the rescheduled date.

Hockey Canada has selected three Stoney Creek Junior Sabres and one Junior Sabres Alumni to represent Canada at the IIHF High Performance Women's Camp in Bratislava, Slovakia from July 4-12, 2011. The three Junior Sabres Taylor Accursi (Ancaster - Ancaster HS), Sydney McKibbon (Oakville - Abbey Park) and Sarah Nurse (Hamilton - Bishop Tonnus) were three of eight players chosen from the athletes that attended the Hockey Canada U18 National Team Strength and Conditioning Camp in May. Former Sabre Alumni and Brock University standout Beth Clause was named to the Senior Contingent.

Congratulations to Junior Sabre Alumni Beth Clause who has been named the Brock University Athlete of the Year as she backstopped the Badgers to their best season in school history having placed second in the OUA with a 22-5 record.

Junior Sabres Alumni Brittany Haverstock (Wisconsin), Brianne Jenner (Cornell) and Laura Fortino (Cornell) advanced with their teams to the NCAA 2011 Frozen Four National Championships. Haverstock was a maistay on the University of Wisconsin defense as they defeated Boston University in the Championship Game by a 4-1 score. This is the second National Championship for Haverstock who was a member as a Freshman with the 2008-09 Wisconsin Badgers.

Cornell's University teammates Jenner and Fortino helped their Big Red team to advance to the Frozen Four for the second year in a row only to lose their semi final game to Boston University by a 4-1 score.

Seven Junior and Midget Sabres helped the Bishop Tonnos Titans come home with the Silver Medal at the AAA OFSSA High School Championships. Tonnos won five straight to advance to the Championship Game before losing 5-2 to Paul Dwyer of Oshawa. Titans players included Junior Sabres Kristen Barbara, Sarah Nurse, Talia Paone and Midget Sabres Alex McCord, Devon Morrison, Anita Paone and Emilee Paron.

Congrats to Junior Sabre Alumni Brianne Jenner and Laura Fortino who have been selected by Hockey Canada to the National Team Selection Camp Roster in preparation for the upcoming IIHF Women's World Championships in April 2011 to be held in Zurich and Winterthur, Switzerland. Selection camp is scheduled for April 2-5, 2011 at the MasterCard Centre in Toronto.

PATTY KAZMAIER MEMORIAL AWARDS NOMINEES

Congratulations to Junior Sabre Alumni Brianne Jenner and Laura Fortino who have been nominationed for the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award. This award is given out to the top D-I women's player.

The nominees for the 2011 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award have been announced and the list of 26 nominated players includes 17 forwards, five goaltenders and four defensemen from 12 different schools in all four Division I leagues.

ECAC AWARDS

ECAC Hockey has also announced their All-Conference honours and three Junior Sabre Alumni have been named to their All-Conference Teams.

Jenner was tied for first in Cornell's team scoring with 46 points (22 goals, 24 assists). Laura Fortino led Cornell's defense with 35 points (8 goals, 27 assists). Sabatine was St. Lawrence's leading scorer with 34 points (15 goals, 19 assists).
